I'm thinking of traveling back in time to the 80's, and with the new Large Hadron Collidor (LHC) going online today, i see my dreams materializing--I'm hoping for more glam rock than cocaine, but if God bestows this curse i will not appeal my supplication. But, than again, a large black hole could spawn consuming the earth leaving nothing behind but remnants of a society that fueled Rodney Dangerfield; but, again, I'm shooting for the 80's, so this Rodney Dangerfield could be a good wing man. If, somehow, a black hole is created by the ions of lead shot over a 27 kilometer distance, would it not simply consume France and Switzerland? Hopefully more of France then of Switzerland, Swiss chocolate is incredible, and i can't imagine living my life without aspiring to own a swiss watch. Yet the success of the LHC could prove to disprove the logic of time; i mean we could have this entire dimension or social construct of time wrong, could we not? Maybe, Edgar Allen Poe was right in his The Devil in the Belfry, maybe society should abolish these abominations that allow capitalism to flourish and consume, or consume and flourish...I digress. Point being, tomorrow a jubilee of small particles will be shot in a circle to smash into each other for the purpose of science; to test the lives of theorists and physicists; the explanations, rationalizations, and imaginations of brilliant men and women will be tested. I'm hoping we discover the moon is really made of cheese, but i prefer to not be blatantly optimistic.
